Your path, start to finish
- Get your exam code from your institution.
It is shared on the notice board, admit card, or by your teacher. Matra never emails codes to students.
- Enter the code and verify who you are.
At the exam entry page, type the code, then your roll number and the email your institution registered. Both must match.
- Wait in the waiting room.
The exam opens at the scheduled time for everyone at once. The countdown runs on the server's clock, not your device's.
- Answer at your pace within the time limit.
Every answer is saved the moment you select it. One question at a time; you can see how far along you are.
- Submit — or let the timer submit for you.
When time ends, your saved answers are scored on the server. Your institution decides whether results appear immediately.
What to keep ready
- Your exam code, roll number, and the email your institution registered.
- A phone, tablet, or computer with a modern browser — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge.
- A charged battery. Connectivity matters less than you think (see below), but power still does.
Not sure your device is ready? Run the two-minute device check before exam day.
If your internet drops mid-exam
Keep answering. Matra saves every answer on your device before it ever touches the network. When your connection returns, everything syncs automatically — a small banner shows how many answers are waiting, and it clears on its own. If the exam page reloads while you're offline, it comes back with all your answers intact.
If your connection only returns after the deadline, your unsent answers are not lost and not silently accepted either: they are delivered to your instructor for review, and your result screen tells you exactly how many were sent.
Fair-exam basics
- The exam works in one window at a time — opening a second tab or device hands the session to the newer one.
- Leaving the exam tab is recorded and visible to your invigilator.
- Scores are computed on the server from your saved answers. Nothing about your result is decided by your browser.
Frequently asked questions
What is an exam code and where do I get it?
An exam code is a short code your institution issues for each exam. It is shared on the notice board, admit card, or by your instructor — the platform never emails codes to students directly.
What happens if my internet disconnects during the exam?
Keep answering. Every answer is saved on your device first and syncs automatically when your connection returns. Do not close the tab; a banner shows how many answers are waiting to sync.
What if I accidentally close the tab or my browser crashes?
Reopen the exam and verify your identity again. Your answers are restored — including ones that had not yet reached the server — and the timer continues from the official exam clock.
Can I take the exam on my phone?
Yes. Use a real browser like Chrome or Safari. Do not open the exam link inside WhatsApp or Instagram — their built-in browsers have limited storage and can lose your session.
Why does it say the exam is already open in another window?
Only one window can hold your exam session at a time. Close every other tab or device where the exam is open, then refresh — the newest window takes over the session.
What if my answers reach the server after the deadline?
Answers that arrive after the deadline because of an outage are not scored automatically. They are delivered to your instructor for review, and your result screen tells you exactly how many were sent.
How can my certificate be verified?
Every certificate carries a code that anyone can check at exams.matramedia.co.in/verify. The page confirms the certificate's holder, exam, and standing directly from the platform's records.
